Editorial Standards – How Our Guides Are Made
Well-founded, honest, independent. Our guides are meant to give you real guidance – without miracle promises and without sales pressure. Here we explain transparently how our content is created, who writes it, and how we ensure quality.
Who writes our guides
Our content is created by the Scheunengut editorial team. The authors responsible are our founders and subject-matter leads – first and foremost Malte (co-founder, with many years of personal experience in health and food supplements) and Philipp (purchasing & raw materials) for topics relating to origin and quality. You can see who's behind it on our About Us page – with real names and faces.
Medical review by a doctor
Health-related guides are reviewed by Dr. med. Stockmann, our physician for product development & research. This ensures that statements are worded accurately and responsibly. The reviewing physician is named in the header of every guide.
Science & sources
We base our statements on reputable, independent sources – such as the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), the German Nutrition Society (DGE), the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, and peer-reviewed literature. Where useful, we list the sources used directly at the end of the article. We do not use commercial websites or forums as evidence.
Staying current
Knowledge keeps evolving. We regularly revise our guides and clearly display the date of the last update on every article.
Independence & transparency
Scheunengut is owner-managed and independent of investors. Our editorial content is not paid for or influenced by third parties. Of course, we sell our own products – but our guides are not a sales brochure; they are meant to inform objectively.
Important health notice
Our guides are for general information only and do not replace individual medical or pharmaceutical advice. Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced, varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. If you have health concerns, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are taking medication, please consult a doctor.
